Udupi: Thirty-seven people were injured when a private bus and a truck collided at Nittur here on Wednesday.

According to the police, the private bus was proceeding from Kundapur to Udupi and the truck from Udupi to Brahmavar when the collision took place around 9 a.m.

The injured included 13 women and two schoolchildren.

They were rushed to the Hi-Tech Hospital, Adarsh Hospital, District Government Hospital and Dr. T.M.A. Pai Hospital. The drivers of the bus and the truck were admitted to the Hi-Tech Hospital.

Rash and negligent driving by the bus driver is said to be the cause of the accident.

A case has been registered.
