Karwar: Madhav Naik, president of Zilla Janashakthi Vedike, filed a complaint on Tuesday against a candidate for replacing his photo with that of actor Aishwarya Rai while filling a form.
The examination was conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board for the selection of high school teachers on Sunday.
It can be recalled called that Narayan Gonda, a candidate with hall ticket no. 2199534, who was supposed to appear at the Government High School examination centre in Karwar was absent. However, his photo was replaced by that of Aishwarya Rai.
The examination board had denied the allegation that it was the negligence of the board and had blamed the candidate for playing mischief while submitting the online application form. Interestingly, the examination board had released the mobile number of the person who had updated the photo and the number belonged to a person working in the office of the Superintendent of Police in Karwar.
Mr. Naik filed the case under the Cyber Crime Act and said that if action was not taken against the guilty, then they might upload vulgar pictures while submitting forms in future.
Accepting the complaint, K.T. Balakrishna, Superintendent of Police, assured that the issue would be taken seriously and guilty would be punished. He said the police would commence investigation and if the guilty belonged to the police department, then suitable action would be taken.
