Karwar: Members of the taluk and Gram Panchayats from Devalamakki, Wailawaada, Kadwad, and Shirwad villages in Kinnar hobli have sought shifting of Nemmadi Kendra from their village. They submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner in this regard on Friday.
They said that people from the four villages depended on a Kendra at Borebaag to get documents. They urged the authorities to shift the kendra either to Karwar-Kaiga main road or to Karwar stating that Borebaag was an interior place and they found it difficult in reaching there.
The members said that they would stage a protest if the Kendra was not shifted within 15 days.
Madhukar Naik, Zilla Panchayat Member, Maruthi Naik, President of the Kadwad Gram Panchayat, Nagaveni Pavaskar, Karwar Taluk Panchayat president, Mangala Anvekar, and Satish Naik were present. (The Hindu)
