Maruti hit a road side tree in Shirali; One killed four injured

Bhatkal: One person died on the spot and four others injured when thier Maruti Omni hit a roadside tree near Shirali circle, NH 17, Bhatkal at 6.30am, Saturday.

Two among the four injured are said to be in the critical condition. They were taken to Kundapur after initial treatments at Bhatkal Government Hospital.

According to sources, all the five belonged to the same family of Tattihakkal Shirali. They had been for an outing to Honnavar on Friday afternoon and were on the way back home today morning, when the tyre of their Maruti Omni got blasted near the Shirali circle. The vehicle lost its control and hit the tree, as a result one of the travelers, Muhammed Ibrahim S/O Shahul Hameed Shaikh (28) died on the spot. The driver Ajaz Akbar Shaikh and Sayeed Yusuf Shaikh are critically injured, whereas the other two Arfath Shaikh and Noorul Ameen Irfan Shaikh are said to be out of danger.




The dead body has been taken to the Bhatkal Government Hospital for the post mortem.

It was told that Ibrahim Shaikh was on his vacations and had returned from Kuwait before two and half months and was married just before two months. Also, Ajaz Shaikh had retured from Muscat recently.

The case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station.
