Bhatkal: : Muhammed Ismail Baig of Bhatkal has been successful in achieving silver and bronze medal for Karnataka with his wonderful swimming performance at the 29th Sub Junior Aquatic Championship 2012 held at Rajkot, Gujarath. Playing for group IVth (for and under ten years), he displayed his best swimming skills in 4*50 meter medley relay, completing his target at 02:30:75 minutes, thus gaining second position at the National level. Also, he finished 50 meter breast stroke in 43 seconds and got third position at National level.
Muhammed Ismail is the first kid of Bhatkal to take part in the National level swimming competition at this tender age of ten years. With this achievement he has brought fame not only to Bhatkal, but the entire district.
Prior to this, Ismail had achieved first place at the State level. He had then completed the task of 50 meter breast stroke at 44.34 seconds, whereas now he did it in just 43.17 seconds.
Mr. Muhammed Yusuf Barmawer, uncle of Ismail, informed that he is a fifth grader at East West School Bangalore. He keeps interests in cricket apart from swimming. He is also bright in his studies and had secured A+ in STD IVth.
He is learning swimming under the guidance of Mr. Nataraj at PMSC Swimming Center in Bangalore.
He aims at achieving gold medal for India at Olympic Games and is working towards it.
Grandson of Moulana Muhammed Ayyub Barmawer Nadwi and son of Saleem Pasha and Rahmatunnisa Barmawer, he begun swimming at the age of five. He practices daily for four hours, two hours each in the morning and evening.
Various organizations of Bhatkal have congratulated the kid for his achievements. Sahilonline also congratulates the child along with his parents and wishes him for the future.
