Bhatkal: Two persons were seriously injured in an accident which took place at Sub-patti near Sarpankatta. A government bus collided with Maruti Omni at around 6pm on Saturday. The injured have been identified as Nitesh Shetty (23) and Sudhakar Naik (22) both from Kuntawani.

Both the persons were travelling on a Maruti Omni when their vehicle got hit with a bus coming from opposite direction. Both the vehicles were badly damaged in the accident.

The injured were taken to the Bhatkal Government Hospital initially and were later shifted to Manipal after the initial treatments.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station.
