Bhatkal: The incident of robbing away the tyres and batteries of goods rickshaws has been reported in Bunder of Bhatkal on the connecting night of Friday and Saturday. The goods rickshaws were parked as usual on the roadside in Bunder on Friday night. Altogether six rickshaws were robbed either of their tyres or batteries.




The rickshaws of Hanumanth Khrwi and Gopal Kharwi were robbed of two tyres and one batteries each, one tyre and a battery from the rickshaw of Somayya Masti Moger, and one tyre each of the rickshaws belonging to Satish Narayan Kharwi and Nagender Naik Belni. The name of another rickshaw driver is unknown who has been robbed of one tyre.

The thefts are on rise in Bhatkal. The incidents of robbing away petrol from motor bikes were heard of before a few months, but such incident of robbing tyres and batteries of rickshaws has come to scene for the first time.

The Bhatkal public has to be on alert after the recent incidents and take proper care in parking their vehicles in safe areas.
