Bus hits tree, 15 injured

Sirsi: More than 15 people were injured in an accident at the early hours of Thursday at around 2am. The accident took place when the bus driver who was trying to save a car which was overtaking another vehicle lost his control over the bus and in the instance the bus came off the road and hit a tree. According to the sources the bus was travelling from Talikote to Dharmastala. The accident took place on Sirsi-Kumta road.

Injured people were rushed to Sirsi government hospital immediately after the accident, the injured people were identified as: Drivers Shantappa Gowda and Bhimappa Madhar, Conductor Ramanna Gowda, Passengers: Rangappa Poojari, Rahul Lamani, Rajjappa nangandadhar, Ambresh nair, Manjula Lamani, Ramesh Lamani, Revanappa, Malikarjun Meti, Manjula Meti, Gadappa Meti, Rukmavva Poojari, Ayyappa Chakavadi.

A case has been registered at Kumta police station.


Good news for Bhatkal to Bangalore travelers

Bhatkal: Two new busses of Raja Hamsa have been inaugurated for the daily trip from Bhatkal to Bangalore. The buses were inaugurated by Bhatkal MLA J.D Naik. The buses will start its journey from Bhatkal at 7.15pm daily and at the same time the other bus will leave from Bangalore towards Bhatkal.

Tahsildar, Dr SS Madhukeshwar, Depot Manager Mahadev R Munje and other depot officers and workers were present at the ceremony.
