Bhatkal: Four persons were injured one seriously in two seperate road accident in Bhatkal taluk.

A bike and a car collided headon on the NH 17 Bhatkal near Haneef Abad cross, on Wednesday around 8 pm, in which the bike rider Shankar Jatta Naik (38) is seriously injured. He was taken to Manipal, after initial treatment at government hospital in Bhatkal. According to the sources Shankar was on the way to his home at Shirali while car coming from opposite direction on the way to Mangalore.



Second accident which was between two bikes was occured at 8.15, which was crashed in between chasing one another at Shardha Hole near Shirali NH 17, who were on the way to Murdeshwar. The three injured were identified as Thirka Manju Naik, Venkat Raman Berma Naik (both from Ternamakki, Murdeshwar) and Govind Madhav Naik (Shirali), were taken to RNS hospital at Murdeshwar.

The peoples are blaming the worst condition of National Highway for the both accidents, as the potholes are not allowing for a safe drive.

A lorry was also over turn near Shamsuddin circle in Bhatkal town at morning due to the bad condition of National Highway.

Bhatkal: A major accident was warded off when a truck over turned very near to an electricity transformer, on National Highway 17, at Shamsuddin circle at Bhatkal, after the driver lose his control due to the major potholes, on early morning at around 4.45am.

All the three occupants of the truck including the driver and the cleaner had a miraculous escape from the accident.

The truck was coming from Dharwad and on the way to Kundapur. Due to the accident the vehicular movement on the Highway was badly affected for some time.
